Animal Ministry
Unitarian Universalists care about animals. In fact, one of the Values of Unitarian
Universalism is Interdependence, which includes our connection to the great web of life.
Our national denomination has a Unitarian Universalist Animal Ministry, which provides
a grief group for those mourning the loss of an animal, sponsors a sermon contest, and
helps individuals and congregations in projects that support animals.
Our individual congregation, BBUUC, has a volunteer Animal Chaplain, who provides
support, in a wide variety of circumstances, to BBUUC members and the animals they
love. These services include grief support, attendance at euthanasia, blessings for
newly adopted animals, and an annual Blessing of the Animals. If you would like more
information or need assistance, please contact animalchaplain@bbuuc.org
