Supporting Clay County Clothes Closet & Food Pantry

BBUUC’s Social Action Committee is continuing our collaboration to collect “in kind” donations to bolster the impact of our Pennies from Heaven cash collection drive, which support local charitable organizations. In the first quarter of 2026, BBUUC donated 22 bags and boxes of diapers, 1 brand new coffee maker, and over $300 from the Pennies from Heaven drive benefitting the Clay County Clothes Closet and Food Pantry (CCFP).

The Clay County CCFP helps families and individuals meet basic needs, such as food, clothing, toiletries, household goods, blankets, and baby supplies.

According to the US Census Bureau, about 9% of Clay County residents live in poverty.[1] Economic pressures continue to affect many households. Local labor statistics show that unemployment in Clay County rose to 4.7% by December 2025, reflecting a gradual increase over the previous year.[2]

Without steady income, it can be difficult for families to provide necessities such as food, clothing, and household goods. The Clay County Clothes Closet and Food Pantry plays a vital role in supporting neighbors in times of crisis and helping stabilize families as they regain financial footing.
