Preparing for Action

Rev. Tan Moss presents
“Preparing for Action”
With Carole Hawkins and Claudia Marshall as Worship Leaders

What does “putting faith into action” mean for those of us living in the Jacksonville area? In the year of COVID, vulnerable neighborhoods are now facing rising crime. We need criminal justice reform for communities of color and compassionate treatment for people dealing with mental illness. Every faith tradition calls its people to serve justice. When we show up together, we become a powerful force for good.

About our guest speaker:

Moss was born and raised in Havana, Florida. He attended the Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University, earning his B.S in Political Science and Master’s degree in Applied Social Science. He holds a Master of Divinity from the Interdenominational Theological Center in Atlanta. Rev. Moss is married to Brenda Moss and they have five beautiful children and four grandchildren.

During this time of social distancing, when in-person worship has been suspended, BBUUC will continue our weekly worship in video format that you can find on YouTube each Sunday morning at the “BBUUC Video” channel. Simply subscribe to the channel on YouTube, and watch our weekly worship services, modified for video viewing until we can resume gathering together for worship in our church sanctuary. The worship videos will remain on the site for viewing at your convenience. New services are posted at 6 A.M. on Sunday mornings.

We invite you to submit your Joys and Concerns via email to office@bbuuc.org by Tuesday at noon of each week for inclusion in the upcoming Sunday’s worship service. Please note “J&C” in the subject line. For your privacy, we will share our Joys and Concerns using first names and last initials only.
