“The Connors Project” Folk Music
America was founded on grand principles, but our founders took community for granted. Today, those principles justify trans rights and the BLM movement for progressives, while MAGA promises a cultural reset to restore the American community many feel we’ve lost. That Founding divorce of principles from community (or government from culture) has left our American ideals not only unfulfilled, but even disregarded by those “we the people” have elected. Looking from that perspective on our UU bylaws shift from principles to beloved community values can help us better appreciate how truly transformative our movement might be.
