About our Guest Minister, Rev. Anna Tulou
The Rev. Anna Tulou (she/they) was welcomed as full-time Assistant Minister at First UU Church of Richmond in July 2024. Born and raised in Richmond, they attended VCU School of the Arts, graduating in 2001, and went on to work in theatre, administration, communications, and human resources. In 2013, Anna moved to the mountains with her family. After serving as lay worship lead at the UU Church of Roanoke for three summers, she entered seminary at Meadville Lombard Theological Seminary, graduating in May 2024. During seminary, they also served for two years as Ministerial Intern with the Unitarian Universalist Congregation in Blacksburg, Virginia. They were welcomed into preliminary fellowship with the UUA in May 2024 and ordained on June 1, 2024.
Rev. Anna is an avid writer and poet who loves to sing, hike, cook, and play. Passionate interests include music, theatre, permaculture, theology, and justice work.
About our Guest Musician, Timothy Edwards, Violin
Timothy began his violin studies in the public schools of Detroit before studying at the Interlochen Arts Academy. He holds degrees from the Eastman School of Music (BM) and the University of Michigan (MM). He has performed extensively, holding positions as section performer, principal, and concertmaster at the Des Moines Metro Opera, Flint Symphony, Toledo Symphony, with substitute positions with the Detroit Symphony and Jacksonville Symphony. Timothy enjoys a vibrant teaching studio and has served as a Humanities Adjunct Professor at the Florida State College of Jacksonville.
