Lessons & Carols

Rev. Carmen Emerson presents
“Lessons & Carols”
BBUUC’s Annual Family Christmas Eve Service on Sunday Morning!
Linda Mowers, Worship Leader
Dr. Gary Smart, Accompanist
Marilyn Smart, Choir Director

In this festive and reflective service of lessons and carols, our Choir, along with Kate Smart, Molly Smart, and the voices of our congregation, will help us weave together a refreshing take on what the Christmas story means for us today. All are invited to stay and enjoy the extended fellowship after the service for delicious holiday goodies (furnished by volunteers organized by the Hospitality Committee) and conversation. This year, the morning service will be our Christmas Eve celebration, and we will not hold another service in the evening, so plan to attend at 10:30 a.m. and join us for the festivities!

JOIN THE BBUUC CHRISTMAS CHOIR!

On Christmas Eve at BBUUC, tradition has it that our Christmas Choir will join the celebration with singing. Welcome back to all those who have given their time and talent in previous years. Our joy this year is that we have so many new members, there will be those who are interested in joining but don’t even know how it works.

First, contact Marilyn Smart (marilynsmartsinger@gmail.com to declare your interest, even if you are shy about your voice, have never sung in a choir before. Or perhaps have sung in a previous choir and so enjoyed the camaraderie that you look forward to doing it again.

We will be singing 2 songs for which we will have 3 rehearsals on the following dates. Each rehearsal will last an hour and will take place after church on these days: December 3, 10, 17. On Dec 24 we will meet at 10 a.m., so we can be warmed up before the service begins. In addition to these rehearsals, we will use online recordings for learning the songs.

If you are interested in our Choir, (Or if you have a friend who is “wondering” about singing with us, please give him/her a nudge in my direction!).   Let me know by sending an email to the above address. This helps me with further notifications. I can’t wait to see you all and to meet those I don’t know yet!

Peace,
Marilyn
