House Meetings
September and October 2021
Who cares? We do!
House meetings for BBUUC’s ICARE social justice ministry return Sept. 1—Oct. 11. This year BBUUC will hold six house meetings, either in person with appropriate safety measures, or by Zoom. Join us, as we gather in hope, compassion and strength!
What is a house meeting?
Each fall members of 38 Jacksonville churches hold house meetings, where we share stories about community problems that we, or someone we care about, are facing. This is the starting point for our work to promote justice in Jacksonville. All of the issues ICARE picks up come from stories heard at house meetings.
This year BBUUC will hold six house meetings, either in person with appropriate safety measures, or by Zoom. Join us, as we gather once again in hope, compassion and strength!
ICARE House Meetings will be held:
Wednesday, Sept. 15 at 7 p.m., Zoom meeting led by Molly Brady
Saturday, Sept. 18 at 10 a.m., In-person meeting led by Carole Hawkins; masks required
Saturday, Sept. 25 at 1 p.m., Zoom meeting led by Claudia Marshall
Saturday, Sept. 25 at 4 p.m., In-person meeting led by Cindi Jorgensen; vaccinated only
Wednesday, October 6 at 7 p.m., Zoom meeting led by Molly Brady
Saturday, Oct. 9 at 3 p.m., In-person meeting led by Stefanie Walter; screened porch, masks required indoors
You can email ICARE@bbuuc.org if you know already which House Meeting you would like to attend. Because children under 12 cannot be vaccinated and due to the high Delta variant infection rate, please leave young children at home or choose a Zoom meeting.
*ICARE is Jacksonville’s Interfaith Coalition for Action, Reconciliation and Empowerment. Our congregation-based community organizing uses the power of people to petition Duval leaders on issues of social justice.
