“The Beauty and Wisdom of the Earth”
An Earth Day Celebration and Flower Ceremony
Dr. Gary Smart, Accompanist
With Special Music by Mike Bernos

Earth Day marks the anniversary of the birth of the modern environmental movement in 1970. For many Unitarian Universalist Congregations, it means much more. Earth Day is a time to recognize and celebrate our 7th Principle, the interdependent web of all existence of which we are a part. Earth Day is an opportunity to contemplate and reinstill our spiritual connection with nature. Join us as we explore the wonder, beauty, and wisdom that our planet Earth has to share with us through this all-ages family service.

This year, we will commemorate Earth Day with a Flower Ceremony, a ritual unique to Unitarian Universalism. As part of the tradition, Congregants are invited to bring a flower with them to the service.
