Jennifer examines our culture surrounding combat and the glorification of the warrior class, including subtle rituals and traditions most people are not even aware of. As UUs, how do we strive for peace in an environment that sanctifies certain kinds of violence, while remaining in concert with our 7 principles?
About our speaker:
Jennifer has been a member of BBUUC since 2001. She has served as Vice President, Worship Committee Chair, and Building Task Force Chair; she has been an RE teacher and occasional musician for services. Her favorite thing to do is be a Worship Leader, and she truly delights in creating meaningful and enjoyable services for some of her favorite people – the BBUUC congregation! Jennifer has a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management, holds a Florida General Contractors License, and is a certified Project Management Professional. She works for JEA as a construction manager. An active member of Toastmasters, Jennifer has achieved her Advanced Leader Bronze and Competent Communicator awards. She married Jerry Bacmeister on Halloween, 2019, and enjoys being a band spouse at Jerry’s gigs, home renovation projects, sewing, tending her chickens and spoiling her two grandsons in what spare time she has.
