Family Worship: Annual Ingathering and Water Sharing Ceremony

Family Worship:
Annual Ingathering and Water Sharing Ceremony

Worship Leader: Jennifer Stokes
Accompanist: Gary Smart
Special Music: Eunice Paliy, Piano

As is traditional in many UU churches across the country, BBUUC will hold our annual water sharing service (sometimes called “Water Communion”) on Sunday, September 9th. All are invited to bring a small container of water from (or representing) your travels, special places, moments or events from the summer or the year, and place the waters into the communal bowl, sharing brief words about its significance. The rejoining of many waters symbolizes the rejoining of the congregation after summer.

Please note that the service will also feature the Dedication of a new recognition wall “In Honor of Our Benefactors,” and will include special refreshments during the fellowship hour.

About Our Guest Musician:

Eunice Paliy started playing the piano at the age of five. From her early childhood, she showed great interest in music. There are thousands of hours of piano, theory, choir, and solfeggio training behind her. Eunice received her diploma from New Song School of Music with honors in 2013. From 2014 to 2015, she was studying with the well-known classical pianist Mark Westcott (3rd place winner of Van Cliburn International Piano Competition). In 2016, she was awarded the Jacqueline Rayot Olsson Scholarship for Portland State University. She then began studying piano with Dr. Susan Chan. Currently, Eunice is working toward her Bachelor’s Degree in Piano Performance at UNF with Professor Dr. Smart. She currently teaches privately in her home music studio in Jacksonville and during her free time, she likes to go to the beach to see the sunrise. She also loves to participate as a musician in her church.
