Endings and Beginnings

Rev. Amy Moses-Lagos, BBUUC Minister, presents
“Endings and Beginnings”
Beth Curtis, Worship Associate
Sydney Crisp, Accompanist
Caitlin Regan, Special Music

In this final service of Reverend Amy, we will celebrate all that BBUUC has accomplished in the past two years, and consider our hopes and dreams for the future.

Today’s Time for All Ages will include our Annual

Blessing of the Backpacks!

All are invited to the Blessing of the Backpacks, which is a time to honor and recognize new beginnings, the rhythm of the academic year, and the importance of being open to learning throughout our lives. Everyone—kids, youth, college students, and adults are invited to bring their backpack, schoolbag, or workbag to the service on August 14th so they may be blessed in this new year of learning by the love of our congregation. In addition to blessing the backpacks and bags of our own members and friends, we are also including the beautiful new bags filled with school supplies from our School Supply Drive conducted by Lifespan Religious Education to help area students succeed. The last day to collect those supplies is August 7, then the backpacks will be assembled by our children and youth, blessed in our service on the 14th, and distributed locally to those in need. See more information about the drive in our newsletter and our BBUUC Community page on Facebook.

Special Music by Caitlin Regan

Caitlin has loved to sing all her life. In college, she regularly performed the National Anthem for the Hudson Valley Renegades, the Single-A baseball team for the Tampa Bay Rays, later became the lead singer for her church’s worship band and has been a member of the Jacksonville Symphony Chorus since 2012. Her favorite audience, however, is her two young daughters, who love to hear “If,” by Bread, and Elvis Presley’s “I Can’t Help Falling In Love With You” before bed each night.
