Awakening to the Distortions in Our ‘Reality’: How Childhood Experiences Affect Our Worldview

Linda Crawford presents
Awakening to the Distortions in Our ‘Reality’:
How Childhood Experiences Affect Our Worldview”
With Linda Mowers as Worship Leader
Sydney Crisp, Accompanist
Special Music by Parker Harrison, Piano

Our early history can determine the way we shape our lives. Few of us have escaped childhood trauma. That experience can damage the lens through which we view society. Until Linda was well into middle age, she was sure that all older sisters were mean; sibling rivalry had twisted her perspective. Severely mistreated children may see the world as universally malignant, and that view can poison their every encounter. The first step in smoothing away our distortions is acknowledging that they exist.

About Our Speaker:

Along with her husband, Dale, Linda Crawford has enjoyed a stimulating and heart-expanding membership in this congregation. She is very grateful to everyone she is encountered along the way. Linda and Dale will be relocating to Tallahassee in June. She hopes to continue appearing at this pulpit.

About our Guest Musician:

Parker Harrison has been playing the piano, keyboard, and guitar since he was a child, and he is delighted to be playing for BBUUC. He has been performing for audiences solo and in bands for several years and is currently studying music and music production at the University of North Florida.
