June 14: Wilderness Journey

From 7-9 PM, at BBUUC, there will be a showing and discussion of the movie: Wilderness Journey: The Struggle for Black Empowerment and Racial Justice within the Unitarian-Universalist Association 1967-70. This movie was created in the late 1990s, 30 years after a series of racially divisive events at UUA General Assemblies. The movie is based on interviews thirty years later of participants in those early struggles. The movie’s goal was to capture a living sense of what happened in the late 1960’s from the people most directly involved who were still alive in the late 1990s.
