Feb 23: Dr Parvez Ahmed will present: “Moderation and Balance: An Islamic Perspective.”

Dr. Ahmed will address two qualities, toward which many of us strive, from the viewpoint of a practicing Muslim.

About our speaker: Parvez Ahmed is Director of Center for Sustainable Business Practices and Associate Professor of Finance at the Coggin College of Business, University of North Florida (UNF). In 2009 he was named a U.S. Fulbright Scholar. Dr. Ahmed writes editorials about Islam and the American Muslim experience. His articles have been published in several leading newspapers in the US and around the world. His articles can be found on forcommongood.com. Dr. Ahmed is a member of Jacksonville’s Human Rights Commission and he also serves on the boards of Museum of Science and History and the World Affairs Council of Jacksonville.

Friday, February 21st

·        7pm-9pm Jim Scott in Concert! – This will be a casual evening! There will be popcorn and snacks along with iced tea and coffee. You are invited to bring your own additional beverages of choice (beer or wine). Any snacks and treats brought to share will be most welcomed. There will be NO admission, but we will welcome any contributions you wish to make towards an honorarium for Jim, and a basket will be available for those who are willing and able to chip in.  Bring friends and family who might enjoy the evening.
