Suppressed: The Fight to Vote 
A documentary on voter suppression in the Georgia 2018 midterm election

The BBUUC Social Action Committee in collaboration with the MLK Memorial Foundation is featuring the film Suppressed: The Fight to Vote, a 38 minute documentary about voter suppression during the 2018 midterm elections in Georgia.

Following the film we will have a panel discussion and opportunities for comments and questions. Our objective is to provide people with an action plan to so they can personally get involved in empowering the vote.

Featured guests include:

  • Gary Thomas, founding member of the Jacksonville Martin Luther King Memorial Foundation.
  • Diane Main, Voting Coordinator for the League of Women Voters.
  • Samir Gupte, lead for the Amendment 4 petition drive and the “Say Yes to Second Chance” education initiative.
  • Sam Coodley, the Statewide Voting Rights Organizer for the ACLU of Florida.
