Gary and Marilyn Smart, with the BBUUC Choir of the Moment, present: “Singing the Journey and the Living Tradition”
Gary and Marilyn Smart will lead us in a service that lifts up the music and the words from a most beloved UU resource–our hymnals. “Singing the Living Tradition” was published in 1993, with hymns, songs and readings from around the world. It was created to be more inclusive in both gender references, multicultural sources, and a wider number of religious inspirations. “Singing the Journey” is a 75-song supplement published in 2005 that presents an exceptional variety of music for congregational singing. Gary and Marilyn, along with the BBUUC Choir of the Moment, will guide us through some musical selections and we will explore between the lines as well. Words from the “Living Tradition” will be interweaved throughout, and the service will be multi-generational. Our R.E.classes will be on pause for the day so that all ages can participate! The nursery will be open for our smallest congregants.
