Have you ever thought about the fact that you can prevent animal cruelty when you wash your hair and when you clean the kitchen? April 24 is World Day for Laboratory Animal Liberation. Although individual consumers cannot directly affect decisions about laboratory animals made by Congress or the FDA, there is one area over which we have full decision-making power: our purchase of cosmetics, personal care, and household products. We can choose companies that have modern methods of assuring their products are safe, such as testing on cells.
Companies that do not test on animals include:
- Lush
- The Body Shop
- Tom’s of Maine
- Method
- Seventh Generation
- Urban Decay
If you’d like to know more about which companies do not test on animals, you can find hundreds of them at https://crueltyfree.peta.org.
