Change is great. BBUUC is constantly changing for the better because of enthusiasm, generosity, and hard work. TA DA!!! STEWARDSHIP!!
Here is what “Stewardship” has done for BBUUC over the last year.
- Our Board members and Committee chairs are engaged to keep BBUUC thriving.
- Dormant committees and ministries have become alive again due to new leadership and joyful participation of members. Look at Social Action, Rainbow Welcoming Ministry, and ICARE!
- Activities and programs that bind us are strengthening our commitment as like minded people with love for each other at the center. Look how we spend evenings and holidays together in social gatherings that are just plain old fun.
- Our Accessibility Team, Facilities and Beacon have spoken, and we are on the schedule for push button door openers , extra handrails, and a new animal policy.
- Our Worship Team is dedicated to providing services that are relevant, compassionate, engaging, and promote enlightenment and spiritual growth.
- Our tech folks are keeping up with advancements in AV and assistive technology.
- We are making loud statements in the community on the side of Activism.
- The generosity of our community has given us the financial means to support all the above, pay our employees, pay for a retaining wall, accessibility features, and the unsexy expenses incurred to keep our building open and safe. (FYI: In the event of severe wind damage, we need to have $250 K in reserve to pay for repair!)
- Families with kids love us, thanks to folks in RE. And we love them.
- Our outsides are as good as our insides, thanks to continued support from the Grounds CrUU and facilities.
- Volunteer! Volunteers!! Take a good look around, and you will see dedicated folks working tirelessly to make our community a community in every sense of the word. From Hospitality to Membership to Caring to RE to Programs to Finance to Pastoral Care to RWM to Facilities to Worship! We are awesome!
- The main recommendations from our survey showed that folks would like to see more programs for adults and kids, more activities that bring us together, and investment into increased space for use.
So, we are asking for your time, your talent, and of course your financial support.
