Rev. Kaaren Anderson
Interim Minister of the UU Fellowship of Vero Beach (FL)
Presents a virtual sermon for BBUUC:
“Fireflies and Genius”
Donna Zimmerman, Worship Leader
Eileen Morrison, Accompanist
Mike Ludwick, Special Music
One of the primary reasons we get tripped up when it comes to creativity has to do with fear and judgment. We may have had an elementary school teacher that told us dogs do not look like pigs, and penguins are not fire hydrants with wings, a high school English teacher who told us our writing metaphors were stale and well-worn, or a camp director who said we couldn’t act our way out of our lamest lie . . . Well, to that I say: Hogwash!
About our Guest Speaker:
Rev. Kaaren Solveig Anderson is the interim minister in Vero Beach, FL. As a parish minister, she has served UU congregations throughout NY and MA for the last 25 years.
Special Music by BBUUC Member Mike Ludwick:
“Firepit” Mike Ludwick taught himself to play guitar as a teenager, cutting his teeth on the Beatles and Bob Dylan. Music has been a life-affirming spiritual practice for him, dedicated to bending the arc of the moral universe toward justice, love, and peace. During the 2011 Occupy Movement when Robert E. Lee Park (now Emancipation Park) in Charlottesville, Virginia, was being occupied by citizens, he played around a firepit until the park was cleared by police, leaving him with his nickname.
