Jennifer Bacmeister presents
“Love All, Serve All”
Alyssa Halliday, Worship Leader
Eileen Morrison, Accompanist
Dr. Sunshine Simmons, Clarinet
Jennifer looks at how the seemingly innocuous marketing of a now-major entertainment franchise pointed her towards Unitarian Universalism and examines how we receive, or don’t receive, messages that can be meaningful to us.
About Our Speaker:
Jennifer Bacmeister has been a member of BBUUC since 2001. She has served many roles over the years, including Worship Committee Chair, Building Task Force, Religious Education teacher, and Board Vice President. Jennifer is an accomplished Toastmaster, one of those rare birds that actually enjoy public speaking! After years of being a Worship Leader, she added writing sermons to her skill set. She has spoken at UU churches in Huntsville, Alabama, and right down the road in Palatka, as well as to our own congregation. When not crafting services as a worship leader, or writing sermons, Jennifer enjoys tending her backyard chickens, spoiling her grandchildren, and sewing (not always in that order!).
Dr. Sunshine Simmons is the Associate Professor of Clarinet at the University of North Florida. Her orchestral experience has included positions in Oregon, Michigan, Illinois, New Mexico, and Indiana. She has performed with symphony orchestras in Chicago, Detroit, Atlanta, Milwaukee, and Grant Park, as well as the Santa Fe Opera and Lyric Opera Orchestra. Sunshine has participated in the Aspen Music Festival, Spoleto Festival USA, Ravinia Festival, and the St. Augustine Music Festival. Internationally, she has performed in Chile, Romania, Japan, and Belgium through the International Clarinet Association. She has taught masterclasses in clarinet throughout the U.S.
