My heart is full with gratitude for my wonderful trip to Jacksonville last week. It was such a joy to meet so many of you in person! It was good to hug, to talk and laugh together. I feel that the in-person time we shared strengthened our relationship. I feel more connected to you, because I have been in the sanctuary where you also have been, and now I can picture what it looks like filled with people on Sunday morning.
I was surprised and delighted to see an art wall at BBUUC! It is wonderful that members have an opportunity to share their artistic talents and bless the community with the gift of beauty. I enjoyed seeing Kris’ paintings very much. I hope in the future you can share photos of the artwork on Facebook so I can continue to enjoy this aspect of life at BBUUC.
It was a treat to visit Jacksonville Beach, see the pier and the waves crashing on the sand and feel the wind and sunshine on my face. My spirit was restored and renewed while enjoying the stunning beauty and power of nature. I also had the opportunity to see the St. John’s River and the Intercoastal Waterway. The weather was perfect. It was a wonderful escape from Seattle where we have had a very chilly and wet April.
It is an honor and a privilege to be your minister. Thank you for welcoming me into your community with open hearts and open arms. I look forward to our continued zoom conversations, which will now be even more meaningful since I have met you and seen your beautiful city. As I finish my final four months at BBUUC, I will be working with you to say goodbye, and help you discern your next steps for the future of the community. This is sacred work and I am grateful to be on the journey with you.
