In 1966, the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., spoke to our General Assembly about not sleeping through the revolution. The most recent report from the Commission on Institutional Change, Widening the Circle of Concern, reports that we have been dozing through our own work. Rev. Tracie discusses the report and what we can do to widen our circle of love.

About Our Guest Speaker:

Rev. Tracie Barrett lives in Winter Springs, Florida, and considers herself to be a UU Evangelist, sharing the good news about our liberal faith. She serves as the halftime consulting minister at University Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Orlando, FL. Rev. Tracie creates workshop experiences for congregations and individuals. She is also pursuing a Doctor of Ministry at United Theological School with a focus on revitalizing congregations. Rev. Tracie delivered terrific sermons to BBUUC virtually when our sanctuary was closed during Covid, and will be delivering her sermon to us this month on the screen in our sanctuary.

About Our Guest Musician:

Gavin Martellotti is currently a Saxophone Performance major studying at the University of North Florida under Dr. Michael Bovenzi. As a saxophonist Gavin has won the University of North Florida’s Wind Symphony concerto competition, received an honorable mention at the Music Teacher National Association collegiate division, was selected as an alternate performer for the Navy Band Saxophone Symposium, and nominated to perform at the UNF honors recital by his peers. Gavin also studies conducting with Dr. Erin Bodnar, and conducts UNF’s Concert Band.
